How It Works

The Rating Process

A six-step process designed for the speed and confidentiality that private credit transactions require.

01

Sales Introduction Call

Submit a preliminary transaction overview and supporting materials. Initial discussions focus on transaction and rating process.

02

Analytical Introductory Call / Meeting

Lead analysts conduct an initial discussion with the deal team to review the transaction, key risks, structure, and analytical considerations.

03

Analytical Review

Lead analysts perform a comprehensive credit review, including financial analysis, structural review, cash flow modeling, stress testing, and discussions with the deal team and Egan-Jones analysts.

04

Engagement Letter / Statement of Work (EL/SOW)

Following the preliminary verbal assessment, the Engagement Letter and Statement of Work are finalized outlining the scope of services, timeline, and applicable fees.

05

Rating Committee Review

The analytical team presents findings to an independent rating committee for review and final rating determination in accordance with Egan-Jones methodologies and governance standards.

06

Release of Rating Report

Final ratings are delivered confidentially to designated parties.
